Commons Ford Park (614 N Commons Ford Rd, Austin, TX 78733) is a weekday favorite of ours when we feel like mixing it up from our normal in-city walk. Just a short drive out to the hills of Austin, gives you a variety of activities at this park. Commons Ford has lovely walking trails with lots of bird and wildlife watching available as well as hiking trails and water access. There is a large, mowed, green space right on the riverbank which is great for playing fetch and picnicking.

Expect crowds on the weekends as this is a popular summer swim spot, but during the week it is rarely busy. Leashes are required due to the wildlife habitat designation but, as usual, be prepared to run into some off-leash dogs. Overall, this place is a beautiful escape from the city and has so much to offer for you and your pup!
